Like an angle, she came from heaven above. She shared her compassion, her pain, her love.

She only stayed with us long enough to teach. The world to share, to give, to reach. Please remove all swing tags before giving this item to a child. For ages 3 and up.

Ty introduced Princess on October 29, 1997. In November 1997, Ty informed U.

This restriction caused many collectors and retailers to believe Princess would be a limited edition. Announcements from Ty and Patricia A.

To this day, much of the production history for the Princess Beanie Baby is a mystery. Ty never planned for Princess to be a limited edition Beanie Baby.

He wanted to have Princess in stores before Christmas, but could not start producing them until he received approval from the Princess Diana Fund managers. Approval was granted on October 29, 1997, the same day Ty introduced Princess at the Ty Internet site. That was the only reason for the retailer limits of 12 Princess Beanie Babies in December 1997. In either late December 1997 or some time between January and March 1998 (existing accounts conflict with each other), Princess bears were discovered that had tush tags showing they were filled with P. The appearance of the P.

Pellet tush tags initiated a controversy that continues to this day. Intro date: October 29, 1997. Retire date: April 13, 1999. ST gen(s): Unique 4/5. Like an angel, she came from above.

Princess was the first Beanie Baby used by Ty to raise funds for charity. The swing tag attached to Princess has a 4th generation design on the front, but a modified 5th generation design on the inside. There is some question as to whether this should be considered a 4th or 5th generation swing tag.

Princess has a 6th generation tush tag which was only seen with 5th generation swing tags. 5th generation swing tags were first used in early 1998, but the Princess swing tag appeared in late 1997. Early Beanie Baby value guides list the Princess swing tag as 5th generation but "tag logic" suggests that based on the "construction" and "front side appearance" of the swing tag (as with all of the other Beanie Baby swing tag generations) and the unique 4/5 design of the tag; this tag should be classified as either a 4th generation swing tag or a "transitional" or "special" tag without a generation designation. This item is MWMT, museum quality condition.
